Welcome to Florida State Parks

FEE-FREE AND DISCOUNTED ENTRY DAYS FOR 2011

To celebrate special occasions, entry into Florida's state parks will be FEE-FREE or DISCOUNTED on the following days in 2011.
Sunday, June 19Fathers Day – 50 percent entry fee for families with fathers*
Sunday, July 17National Park and Recreation Day – Free for all*
Sunday, September 11Literacy Month – Free with library card, library book or donation of family-friendly book*
Friday, November 11Veterans Day – Free for all*
*Excludes the Skyway Fishing Pier State Park.

DISCOUNTS ON ANNUAL ENTRANCE PASSES FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES
Effective July 1, 2010, Florida's state parks will offer special deals on Annual Entrance Passes to those who currently serve or have served in the United States military branches, veterans with service related disabilities and surviving spouses of members of the US military who have fallen in combat.  Learn more about the annual pass.

Orlando Science Center: Dads get free admission on Father’s Day – Theme Park Rangers – Orlando Sentinel

The Orlando Science Center will mark Father’s Day this Sunday with free admission for dads. Admission includes all of the science center’s big-screen films and exhibits, including the just-debuted “Guitar: The Instrument That Rocked the World.”
The new exhibit showcases dozen of iconic guitars, including some from Johnny Winter, Vic Flick, Adrian Belew, Steve Vai and Joe Bonamassa. Also on site is the world’s largest guitar, which is 43.5 feet long and 16 feet wide.
Regular admission is $17 for adults, $12 for ages 3 to 11.
Operating hours for Orlando Science Center on Sunday are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m."
